TNW: Practically Connected

The Tariff Network Nordwestschweiz (TNW) comprises the public transport companies BVB Basler Verkehrs-Betriebe, BLT Baselland Transport AG, SBB Schweizerische Bundesbahnen, PostAuto Schweiz AG, AAGL Autobus AG Liestal, and WB Waldenburger AG.

Generating close to 50 percent of revenue, BVB is the largest partner, followed by BLT and SBB with approximately 20 percent. Postauto, AAGL, and WB generate the remaining 10 percent. The key to the allocation of revenues is the number of transported passengers and the mileage covered by the various partner companies. Each partner is committed to ascertain the relevant data for their company, either by using an automatic counting system in their vehicles or by carrying out regular hand-counts.
