Travelling in a manually-powered wheelchair

Trams:

The lines 6 and 8 operate with low-floor trams (Type Combino). Please get on board by using the second door from the front. The crew is happy to help you if you need assistance, for example, by folding your wheelchair when getting on board.

The other lines are serviced by older vehicles. They have step-free access, but no special wheelchair ramp. In three-coach trams, the step-free access is in the middle carriage, in two-coach vehicles (lines 15 and 16) in the second carriage, in Be4/6Solo low-floor vehicles in the middle section (see diagrams)

A few stops (e.g. Bankverein) are not suitable for access by wheelchair.

For further information concerning the planning of your individual route, please contact the BVB Customer Center Tel. 061 685 14 14 during office hours.

Buses:

All our buses are equipped with a lowerable floor and a special wheelchair ramp.

Our crews are happy to help you when getting on board. Please call the driver’s attention by giving a hand signal when you want the vehicle to stop.
